MCCP: Client support

Native clients

These clients support the protocol with no modification necessary.

• Kmuddy - a KDE3 based mud client for Linux, versions >= 0.5 [MCCP2]
• mcl - the Mud Client for Linux, versions >= 0.42.05 [MCCP1] or >= 0.52.98 [MCCP1+2]
• MUSHclient, a Win95/98/NT-based mud client, versions >= 2.14 [MCCP1] or >= 3.05 [MCCP1+2].
• Papaya, a GTK mud client for Linux/Solaris/Windows, as of version 0.60 [MCCP1+2].
• Kmud, a free graphical mud client for Linux/Unix under KDE, as of 1999/12/12. [MCCP1?]
• RoAClient, as of version 4.4. [MCCP2]
• SimpleMU 4.0 [MCCP1+2].
• zMUD, versions >= 6.03beta. [MCCP1+2?].

Client patches

These patches add MCCP support to clients that lack it in their primary versions.

• xtush 1.5, plus this patch. [MCCP1]
• A patched version of TinyFugue [MCCP1+2], thanks to Martin Thomson. MCCP2 (only) support is planned for TinyFugue version 5.0.

Client proxies

A proxy between the mud client and mud server can perform decompression transparently, allowing clients without any MCCP support to benefit from the protocol. mcclient is currently the only implementation of a MCCP proxy I know of. [MCCP1+2]

• mcclient 0.4 source code, builds for Linux and Win32.
• mcclient 0.4 precompiled binaries for Win9x/NT (and probably 2000).
