HI, on the mud i play, when i get an output with a greater than sign, the display will show either a blank spot where that greater than sign was supposed to be or nothing at all.

Have you turned MXP (MUD eXtension Protocol) on?

MUSHclient is thinking it has an element (like <B> for bold) and is absorbing stuff between < and >.

Make sure that MXP is off on the MXP configuration tab. Possibly the MUD is using MXP but implementing it incorrectly.

If you can't resolve it, tell us the address and port of the MUD.

Or, if MXP IS on, try turning it off... Or replacing < and > with &gt; &lt;
