I'm sorry if this has been posted somewhere else in the past, but while I have figured out how to highlight multiple words in a single line, I don't know if it's possible to cause multiple highlights in a single word. My original thought was that if I created two triggers that would do it but it wasn't working that way... ^<\bdebate\b> and then using ^<\b......\b> as the other match but i'm assuming they overlayed and only one worked which was the ^<\bdebate\b>. I'm trying to highlight the < > a different color then the Debate in the middle... Is this possible?
Using Multiple Highlights in a Single Word

Can you post both triggers you tried please?
You should be able to do both multiple words and multiple highlights within a word.
For advice on how to copy aliases, timers or triggers from within MUSHclient, and paste them into a forum message, please see Copying XML.

Apologies for thread necromancy, but I am having a similar issue. I am trying to highlight the entire line for any pages/whispers that come my way, and highlight a list of names independently. With both a single word highlight set up for the name, and a line highlight set up to color the line, I get a line that is highlighted properly for a whisper/page, but the name will not highlight properly. If I uncheck "keep evaluating" on my single word highlight, the opposite happens, I get the name highlighted, but not the line of the whisper/page. Is this an issue with order-of-operations? How do I get it to apply the line highlight, and then the word highlight on top of it? Hopefully the system will notify me by mail when this gets a reply. I know I'll forget to dig into the forums to check for this!
WOOO, solved it myself after some digging! For anyone else facing this problem, lower the "sequence" integer in the trigger settings for your line to a lower number so it gets executed first! I set all my system-level line highlights (pages, whispers, system messages, etc.) to 1 so they get executed first!
Good idea. A low-sequence, "keep evaluating" trigger should do that OK.
