The smaug based mud i immortal on cannot display a prompt through my client.....i need this as i use the 'vnum' and 'area' sections of a prompt regularly. I think this mud uses something new to muds/mushes etc but i'm not sure what or how to get around it. It could be a MUSHclient or i spose it could be a mud problem. I reluctantly downloaded GMud recently, just so i could get my building done....it totally sux and u need Ctr+c and Ctr+v just to copy and paste, it's pathetic. Please please please don't make me use this terrible program for one second more than i have to ????

I'm not sure what you are asking for here. Can you give an example? What do you mean "cannot display a prompt through my client" exactly?

Well, i'm guessing u know what a prompt is used for etc etc, so i'll skip to the important part. Instead of showing a prompt with info about hp/mana/move and so on, all it does is leave a blank space on ur screen. Like i say, this has only been happening since our muds head coder has updated our code so it may be that.....

Ah I see. Some muds have configurable prompts, see if that is the problem, also you can turn them off. Try "help prompt" and see if you can find what is going on.

Just, as a little bit of semi-relevant info.

With Gmud, you dont need to Copy/Paste with Ctrl C/V,

When you highlight text, in the output window, it automatically copies it to the clipboard.

As for pasting, If you right click in the Input box (the little one at the bottom of the screen), it should display the normal Copy/paste/select all/undo/cut pop up.

that is, using Gmud 1.9b (the newest, and last version, as far as Im aware).

If you need to get another copy of it... ftp://papa.indstate.edu/winsock-l/mud/

Hope that helps, while not nessisarily (or at all) pertaining to mushclient.

Since we have wandered off the topic already, I just wanted to comment that the latest version of MUSHclient also does an auto-copy to clipboard of highligted text in the output window (as an option), and also has a menu which pops up when you right-click in the command window (input box) which includes copy/paste etc.

Right you are Nick.

Mushclient has done the right click thing, for a while now. At least, as long as I can remember.

And, as for the Copying in the output, (Yes, yes, off topic), is there anyway we could get it to do a temporary pause while youre highlighting? Its annoying to have to pause it manually, to copy one word or whatnot, because it keeps scrolling down. (Same thing for scrolling up, but I see the reason for moving window down when that happens)

Just a thought.
