If it's possible, one feature that would sidestep the issue with dropping connections through a firewall(see Bug reports Forum) would be a setting to restrict what local ports MUSHclient could use. That way a narrower range could be forwarded, rather than the wider assortment(1000-3000, in my experience)that it uses currently.

Firewalls usually block on the outgoing port (the one you are connecting to) rather than the local port, because web browsers and most other software is likely to choose an arbitrary figure for the local port.
I'm not even sure how to tell the software how to restrict its port choice for the local port, if anyone has any ideas I would be interested to hear them.
