Has anyone demoted a charecter using advance and notice that they get gains? in mana, and such?
Anyone else seen this problem in advance?

Actually, it lowers you to level one, resetting your status, and then advances you to that level, giving you the normal amount of HP/mana for that level.
Hrmm then it must be a bug in my code, cause it seems to be accumulating on mine.

404hp 281m 737mv was level 49, then 58hp 114m 165mv was level 4. It may appear that you are gaining more on through the advance messages, but you shouldn't be. If you are, your advance command must have been changed.
I did the same thing to find that it didnt increase I dont know what I did the first time to get those results.
