Is there some where to download a mush for Windows XP so that all you have to do to start it going open one thing? If not, is there some where that gives step by step instruction on how to get a mush from down load to up and running? I've tried to use the read me files but they seem to assume that I know sertain things as skip them.

From the PennMUSH download page here:
Here is the link it gives: http://www.gammon.com.au/smaug/howtocompile.htm
Thought that might at least give you a start.

If you would like compile your own, take a look at the web page How to make changes, including compiling. This page shows how to compile SMAUG, including discussions about the difference between source and object, and what 'linking' is. Much of it is relevant to PennMUSH.
