For some reason everytime someone asaves anything the mud crashes and there is always an error in an area file (a large portion of it disappears) and I have to load a backup. We can't do anything building wise at all. I ran the mud through gdb and got this :

Wed Feb 18 11:54:51 2004 :: Loading Zane.
Wed Feb 18 11:54:51 2004 :: [*****] BUG: Fread_char: no match.

Can anyone give me any advice?

You need to do another step, type "bt" in gdb to do a backtrace. That will show what is calling strlen. Probably a null pointer, but you need to know the context.
