swr1fuss run errors/bugs

ok.. i downloaded swr1fuss.. used cygwin to make it and
then ran it... I get a mass of errors and bugs.. but it
still runs so i try to connect and it keeps telling me i
have the wrong password no matter what i enter.. and i know
i have the right password because i opened the player file
for the admin and copied the password .. I have tried
pasting and plain typing it in neither works

please help me.. here is a copy of the command window and mud output

It looks like the areas are corrupt, although I'm not sure.

Disable IMC, it'll get rid of those bugs.

First of all, passwords are encrypted. You can't copy paste it, that isn't the password.

How do I disable encryption then? or unencrypt the
passwords on the files so i can get into the friggen mud

To disable IMC go and edit Makefile. A line will appear that says something like this:

IMC = 1

Just change it to:

#IMC = 1

As for the password, well, there was a command for it on the mud. Try creating a new character, if possible and use it or copy its saved password.

Cool the IMC thing worked and so did the password...

However the character file then sent with the package is
named Admin.. yet hes level 1.. So i had to take a
character file from a different swr mud and use that
one... but now i cant get my new imm guy above level 101..
there isnt a toplevel command anymore.. just an
immortalize and that only puts them at 101... is there a way to put toplevel back in?

and please dont tell me it tells how to make an immortal in the faq.. it says to
"advance <player> 65"

well the top level is 105 for swr muds and the advance command in swr muds is made to be
"advance <player> [ability] (level)"

To become higher in immortal status, you need to edit the file directly. Find the top_level entry (or w/e) its called and change it to 105 or to what the highest imm setting is.

Ok done that... now is there a reason that that guy has lest showing on his wizhelp list?...

i have about 10 commands that dont show up on the new "imm's" wizhelp but his level is 105 and i even tried to set his trust to 105 to see if that would affect it.. it didnt..

i dont know.. i keep having so many problems with ALL the different codebases that I might have to actually learn to code properly and make my own codebase that isnt so hard to understand.... but before i do that all help is appreciated.

The IMC errors are probably my fault for not having updated the config files the last time around. But they can be ignored, they don't impact the operation of the mud unless you wanted to use IMC.

As for the password issue, you already worked that out, but for future reference to others who might use the FUSS package, the password for the Admin pfile is admin. Lowercase.

The area file thing is a bit ugly but there didn't seem to be any easy way to resolve the dependency problems.
