Ok so Im running cygwin and the codebase and for some reason no matter wat i do my friends cant get in. i gave them my ip, i disabled my firewall, i tried different ports. One of the guys mentioned that maybe because vista has telnet issues. Is there anything else Im missing?

Did you try forwarding the ports with the router?
Not sure...I use a college's wifi network... Im not really tech savvy when it comes to all this.
Then you're probably out of luck. If the port isn't forwarded to you, no one will be able to sign on outside the network.
See if your CS department will let you host it on one of their machines :)
