OK, i see that Nick has the bad habit of mentioning future versions before they are released, e.g. "German characters feature has stopped working in 3.37".
Either post a beta executable in some secret beta-testing place where few people will know about, or just say "will be fixed in future versions" or something, it annoys us impatient people :p

Well, it is fixed in 3.37 (not stopped working).

I amend the release notes as I go, so that things don't get left out.

If it is simply on the "bug list" then it is a "future version" but if the fix has actually been implemented then I say so, so you know that when you download that version it will be fixed.

What i meant, was, basically, that it would be nice if you uploaded unfinished versions to a place where beta testers could download them :p

The problem with that Poromenos is that 'all' posted versions are beta. ;) They are released as soon as changes are made and if you don't want to beta test, you simply wait until you are certain that the current version is completely stable and working. This doesn't lend itself to posting 'beta' versions in a different location.

It might be useful to maintain links to versions that are considered 'stable' as an alternative to essentially making everyone a beta tester, but that can be counterproductive, since the ones most likely to want a stable client are also the ones that you 'need' to have telling you what has stopped working in them or is still not entirely perfect.

Version like 3.35 and 3.36 are effectively beta released, because the main downloads page still shows the last known stable version, until I get confirmation that the changes in those versions are not accompanied by lots of bugs.

However what happens once I release something (like 3.36) is I immediately start adding new stuff (in this case, the chat code) so it becomes unstable for a while until it is all in and tested to my satisfaction. Then after a day I get a message about minor things being wrong (eg. the German characters), however it is not really practical to release the new version now with that fix in, until the chat stuff is ready.

Basically you are getting it as soon as practical.
