| Hi.
I've been through many MUDs, and now encountered one on which a lot of people use the chat functionality, supplied by some MUD clients, to communicate directly with other users. This seems to be quite a useful utility, but not provided in MUSHclient. I was wondering if it is being planned to be introduced into MUSHclient.
Also, I was wondering where i could get specifications on this chat protocol. I'm thinking to write just a small always-on-top window for use of this chat utility. Reason being that a lot of MUD clients do not support it and I'd find it more useful in a different window than the spamming MUD activity.
Thanks a lot.

| Yes, that is on the 'to do' list. There seem to be a couple of specs for it, the zChat one and the MudMaster one.
The zChat one is at: zChat Protocol Specification
I couldn't find the MudMaster spec. |

| Thanks a lot. Good luck with implementing chat in MUSHclient. Just a question, which specifications are you going to be using? Or are we going to get a third set of specifications? :P~
Wouldn't you think it be sensible for the major MUD client creators to come together and design standard specifications for the MUD chat ?

| I certainly won't do a third spec. :)
I will probably do the MudMaster one, which I believe is compatible with itself (of course) and zMUD ... if I can find it.
Otherwise I'll make it compatible with the zChat spec.
We client developers actually believe it is in everyone's interest for things to be compatible, hence the work on making MCCP and MXP to be universal protocols. |

| Woop.. After quite a while of 'retirement' I started mudding again. Just decided to come for a random check to see what's up and not a day too early.
Will have a look as soon as possible..
