| I'd like to announce that I've opened a new site dedicated specifically to the SMAUG FUSS packages. I felt it was time these efforts started to build an identity of their own, separate from other sites.
The new site can be found at:
http://www.smaugfuss.org
The site will feature downloads of the bugfixed codebases, and has a discussion forum dedicated to the SMAUG FUSS codebase packages.
I would encorage anyone interested in the FUSS packages to come and see the new website and forum and to offer any comments or suggestions on ways to improve the site.
[EDIT - 11 March 2008] - The Smaug FUSS site is now http://www.smaugmuds.org/ | | Top |

| Nice job, Samson - looks neat. :)
I've always wondered, though, why the bugs you find are not incorporated into the real stock source. Are the folks at RoD just not willing to put in external patches to their bugs? I'm sure their codebase has evolved greatly since the public release on their site, so is there some political story going on for why these fixes have not made it into their distribution? |

| | Ah neat. Who knows about RoD, or why they haven't fixed these bugs. Maybe most of their functions were finished up/redone. |

| | So far as I know they don't use any of the bugfixes in their distribution files. I don't think they've even touched the 1.4a one since somewhere around 1998. The last time I asked one of them about it they didn't really give me an answer but said I was clear to maintain a fixed version if I wanted to. They're more than welcome to use any of the fixes in it obviously :) | | Top |

| | Huh... weird that they don't use the fixes and that they don't say to use the fixed version instead. Oh well. In any case you're doing a good job there, Samson. |

| Yeah, but what are you going to do.
Anyway, thanks for the compliments. Good to know the effort will be appreciated :) | | Top |
