I'm a previous user of Portal, and the one thing I liked ALOT was how the triggers (events) in Portal are grouped together to help organize things better. The only limitation was each group was 25 events, and only 10 groups could be active (250 events total). This was a limitation because "scripting" in portal consisted of lots and lots and lots of events and triggers, not actually scripting languages like MUSH has.

Anyways, I'd like to see some grouping function or something similar so I'm not scrolling through a long list each time I want to find an event. Or just some sort of distinguishing feature to make certain events stand out so they are easy to find in a list.

Hope this is taken into consideration.

Yours truly,
Killa

Strictly speaking, it is possible to do now. Firstly, you can click the "Group" label at the top of the Triggers list to sort by group. Secondly, although it's not entirely intuitive, you can click the "..." next to the Filter by checkbox, and input a 'filter' function to filter the list by criteria you define. There should be a .txt of example filters in the MUSHclient root directory (where MUSHclient.exe is located).

I too would like to see something more robust/user-friendly, though.

The file is example_filters.lua.

However it doesn't specifically have a filter by groups. This post, does, however:

Template:post=7880 Please see the forum thread: http://gammon.com.au/forum/?id=7880.

Just click on the "..." in the trigger list, paste the code from that thread into it, and then click on the "Filter by" checkbox.

It will then prompt you for the name of the group you want, and only display that group.

Hey a portal user... I bet you play on 3 Kingdoms... :)

Check out http://tinyurl.com/MCMIP and http://tinyurl.MCMIPfiles for a few plugins to get all the portal updates and automatic gauges and hp3bar...

okay, enough shameless plugging of my plugins :)

EDIT: Okay... looking back at your window capturing plugin, I don't think you play 3k (as there's no Duende on 3k, and 3K's tells are formatted differently than Duende tells you : 'look at the mushclient forum') If that mud is MIP enabled, the plugins will still work, but I don't know of any muds other than 3K that are... Then again, I only play 3K and had a char on aardwolf briefly... You're welcome to try them.

For those that don't know what MIP is, it's kinda like MXP. The 3k owners made Portal and MIP because one of the guys has some beef with Zugg and zmud or something.

Nick, is there a way to persist or load filters? It's a pain to cut n paste into a modal dialog box.

It's a great feature that I don't use all that often because access to it is wonky.

The filters persist. When the world is saved they are saved with it.

No I actually play on Materia Magica.

And ok guys, thanks for the response. I will try that feature and hopefully I can organize my events a bit better. Thanks again
