| Hello all,
I'm relatively new to this particular MUD software, I'm more of BBS sysop trying to get further into something I've always found interesting. Anyway enough background, here's the problem. I'm trying to explore the features, particularly guilds/clans/orders/councils... anyway with Guilds (all I've done so far) I tried the pre-existing Guild of Vampires.
I had a level 2, 5, 10 (tried with all three) vampire character plus the additional included (Lordrom) immortal/wiz character. I tried using the setclan command to set my vampire character as the "Leader" but nothing new happened. It shows members = 0 and I cannot for the life of me find out how to add members or even get my "leader" to be able to access the guild area. It still says I cannot 'tresspass' there, despite being the leader. I have tried reboots and the situation doesn't change.
I have tried setting my vampire player as both leader and deity.. nothing happens. Induct/outcast commands recieve a 'huh?' from his end. From the Lordrom/god end I get the same 'huh' response.
What am I doing wrong? How do you 1) properly establish someone as a leader/first/second/deity of a clan and 2)add members?
the "guilds vampires" or "guilds" screens will show the leader as the player I picked, but the player has no new commands that I can see. Again reboots don't make a diff.
Please let me know what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks
please email me if you can, or at least CC the forum response. I'd appreciate it. | | Top |

| i think there is a minimum level to be in a clan/guild/order, try making the characters a higher level before you add them to an organisation
you wont be able to make a character a deity the way you think...setdeity doesnt affect the character even if they have the same name
if you're the leader of a clan/whatever, induct may do the trick..i havent played/worked on a smaug since version 1.02 came out :) | | Top |

| Hey,
Try type this on your immortal character:
mset <Enter Name Here> clan guild of vampires
EG: To set yourself as in GoV type
mset self clan guild of vampires
Once one char has been put in the guild, set that char
as the guild leader, then you can induct as per normal.
