| I've compiled SMAUG 1.4a for Windows (Running XP Home Edition). Everything compiled nicely, and the game runs, I can connect to it fine. However, others can't connect. I don't receive any error message, or even anything that says that someone is trying to connect. Help? | top |

| are you running any type of irewall that will block incoming packets on certain ports? xp tends to run its firewall when you connect tot he internet unless you know where to turn it off. | top |

try left clicking on START .. right clicking on My Network Places.. right clicking on your connection thing and bring up the properties...
click on the Advance tab and you should see some stuff about the firewall
you can click on the settings tab at the bottom right and add your mud port to that.. which is probably the safer and recommended thing to do or if you still have problems with other people connecting try disabling the firewall to see if the firewall is indeed the culprit.
