Hrm. I installed Erwin's global board snippit into my
mud, and it works great .. except that notes don't
save upon shutdown. I'm using the latest version
of cygwin with Windows 98.. and I'm pretty sure this
is the reason. Can anybody tell me why?

Odds are the problem is that the snipet either didnt include directions on what and where to modify to have the boards save on shutdown or presented them in such a way that the writer a) made them easy to overlook, or b) assumed the reader would know how to do so on their own. Can't really help more than that without a link to the snipet for investigation. Very very rarely is such a problem related to what OS you are running your mud on.
