Description

Starts accepting incoming chat calls.

The port number specifies which port to listen for the calls on. If zero, the default chat port is used. If non-zero, this will change the default chat port.

This will fail if MUSHclient is already accepting calls.

It will also fail if another program or another world (eg. another MUSHclient window) is already listening for calls on the specified port. Thus, if you are accepting calls in different worlds simultaneously, each one must use a different port.

The default port for chats is 4050.

Available in MUSHclient version 3.37 onwards.

VBscript example

ChatAcceptCalls 0 ' use the default port
ChatAcceptCalls 4051 ' use port 4051

Jscript example

ChatAcceptCalls (0); // use the default port
ChatAcceptCalls (4051); // use port 4051

PerlScript example

ChatAcceptCalls (0); # use the default port
ChatAcceptCalls (4051); # use port 4051

Python example

world.ChatAcceptCalls (0) # use the default port
world.ChatAcceptCalls (4051) # use port 4051

Lua example

ChatAcceptCalls (0) -- use the default port
ChatAcceptCalls (4051) -- use port 4051

Lua notes

The Port argument is optional. If omitted it defaults to 4050.

Return value

eChatAlreadyListening: We are already accepting calls.
eCannotCreateChatSocket: We cannot do that, probably the port is in use.
eOK: Now accepting calls.
