After a few tries I was able to get Samson's version of hotboot to compile clean. When I try and use it inside my MUD, it disconnects me. In the shell window (i use cygwin) it seems everything goes through fine. It does a bunch of stuff that goes too fast (i assume the hotboot code itself) and then I get MUDNAME ready on port blahblah...then i get two errors, write_to_descriptor socket operation on nonsocket...then it says hotboot recovery complete. But I cannot cannot to the mud until I re-compile smaug...I'm not sure if this is too vague for anyone to help me, but this is almost everything i know. Any help would be appreciated

This has already been covered a number of times recently, try searching for hotboot or copyover and youll get plenty of threads with reasons behind this.
