| Has anyone used andLinux to compile ROM source? I am a foreigner to Linux in general so i don't exactly know what to do with my newly installed andLinux (it feels sort of like christmas and I don't know what i'm getting).
Anyone able to basically give me a push in the right direction and maybe post some steps on what to do, what programs to run, what commands to use, etc?

| It should be the same way as *nix. Do you know how to do that? |

| Hmm, well I better understand how it all works, but since I'm not an avid user of linux, I don't even know how to get started with andLinux.
For example:
Which program do I use? Is gcc already installed or do i have to install that into andLinux? Once it's open do I just use it like I do cygwin? | Top |

| You might have to install programs like gcc, g++, make, etc. Hopefully andLinux has some kind of package manager that makes this easy.
You might also want to consider getting a virtual machine from VmWare with a Linux distribution like Fedora or Ubuntu on it. Chances are a lot of this will be installed already. |

| andLinux is supposed to come with most everything you need. If it doesn't, it does have the synaptic package manager to install additional applications/software as needed. Supposedly, it's a port of Ubuntu now. You could get answers for your questions on how to go about adding/removing software from the Ubuntu forums. | Top |
