Has anyone used andLinux to compile ROM source? I am a foreigner to Linux in general so i don't exactly know what to do with my newly installed andLinux (it feels sort of like christmas and I don't know what i'm getting).

Anyone able to basically give me a push in the right direction and maybe post some steps on what to do, what programs to run, what commands to use, etc?

It should be the same way as *nix. Do you know how to do that?

Hmm, well I better understand how it all works, but since I'm not an avid user of linux, I don't even know how to get started with andLinux.

For example:

Which program do I use? Is gcc already installed or do i have to install that into andLinux? Once it's open do I just use it like I do cygwin?

You might have to install programs like gcc, g++, make, etc. Hopefully andLinux has some kind of package manager that makes this easy.

You might also want to consider getting a virtual machine from VmWare with a Linux distribution like Fedora or Ubuntu on it. Chances are a lot of this will be installed already.

andLinux is supposed to come with most everything you need. If it doesn't, it does have the synaptic package manager to install additional applications/software as needed. Supposedly, it's a port of Ubuntu now. You could get answers for your questions on how to go about adding/removing software from the Ubuntu forums.
