| | I am eyes, and i play Exile mud. (exile.lurker.net port 4000) I have troubles remembering all the little detail of the world which doesnt help me be a great player. I have read what i could about the mapper but just got more confused. So what i am asking, i guess, is that is there a way to get a picture type map recorded to remember each zone? I seen something like what i am talking about on a youtube video (www.youtube.com/?v=QvceEH3L4co). Is this possible for me and if so how. Sorry for my ignorance, you all seem sooooo smart on here. | | Top |

| The YouTube video he is referring to is the one I made showing playing Aardwolf with various plugins, including the minimap and the bigmap.
The thing about those maps is that they were already provided by the server (the MUD game) and the stuff you saw on YouTube was just capturing that map and displaying it in a different window.
So, if your MUD has a map, yes, that would be comparatively easy (basically take the map plugin shown in the video and adapt it to your MUD).
However if the map doesn't exist, that is another, somewhat more complex, story. You then need to build up a map by visiting rooms. MUSHclient doesn't have a graphical mapper (yet) but it is a project that could be done with miniwindows if someone is enthusiastic.
