Template:bug

Please provide a summary of your world configuration:

  • Either use the scripting Immediate window (Ctrl+I) to execute: Debug ("summary")

    or

  • Install the Summary plugin (see "Summary" feature) and type "summary"

Then copy the resulting information from the output window, and paste into a Forum message.

You need version 4.55 onwards of MUSHclient to do this.

It's Debug not dubug.

You have to spell it right and get the capitals right.

I can't see anything that would cause the problem, sorry.

However as I said, other Windows 8 users of MUSHclient are not having this problem.

Is there anything else I can do to try and fix it?

I don't know what else to suggest. For example, if I copy an image to the clipboard, and RH click in the command window, Paste is greyed out, as it can't paste an image. But if I copy text, I can (paste).

I can only guess that the Edit control supplied with Windows 8 is somehow incompatible with pasting, why, I don't know.

However, try Googling:

"windows 8" +"cannot paste"

I got 2.4 million hits. :)

There seems to be suggestions about some sort of security "feature" that disallows copying and pasting between secure and insecure threads. Try running MUSHclient with administrator privileges, just to confirm that, at least.

Failing that, read some of those threads. There may be a way of elevating MUSHclient's privileges so you can paste into it.

I just started getting this problem today.

I have happily been using MUSHClient (yes I donated!) FOR OVER TEN YEARS and have never had this issue before.

I am using Windows 7. I have been using MUSHClient in Windows 7 specifically for over a year with no problems.

The problem is as follows: The "paste" command works as normal, except it does not actually paste anything into the command entry window. If there is something on my clipboard, and I rightclick on command entry, the "Paste" function is black (available), but clicking it does nothing (other than close the pop up menu).

"Cut" and "copy" both work fine. I have cut text from the command window and tried pasting it using ctrl-v and rightclick->Paste and Edit->Paste. All those commands are available but they do nothing.

Paste functionality still works fine in other applications.
Restarting MUSHclient had no effect on the issue.

Update: Running MUSHClient as admin did NOT fix this problem.

Update: Google Chrome appears to be causing this problem. Restarting the computer, and then opening MUSHclient, the paste command worked. Then opening Chrome, it stopped working again. Closing Chrome (and deleting its remaining process in the task manager) re-fixed the problem.

Weird.

And I found yesterday that I can't reply to comments on my YouTube videos unless I start using my "real name" (where a "real name" can be any name I care to make up).

Some strange stuff is happening with Google.

[EDIT]

Moved videos to Vimeo to work around this problem.
