I have version 3.42 and I recently did a mapper and tried to create an alias based on the directions I took.

I walked and got 2n 3e 2s 3w n d 2w

and I cliked "make alias". I entered "hearth" as my alias name, and then went to test it out.

Upon typing "hearth" again, all I get is "huh?".

I'm not sure what's wrong, if it's the alias itself or the mapper.

Speedwalk is selected in the drop down menu, so, I'm kind of confused.

Also, if I enter this alias (typing "hearth" in the client) more than twice to try to make it work, the client crashes. I get an error and it closes on me.

edit: It's the mapper. If I take the directions and go to "aliases" and add it that way, it works

See Using mapper to create speedwalk aliases causes crash.

For now, click and copy the generated speedwalk string in the 'Current Route' box and make the alias yourself (like you said you were doing).

The mapper itself is safe enough to use, just don't use the 'make alias' or 'make reverse alias' buttons - they are not correctly setting up internal pointers.
